Compass Homes, your Columbus custom home builders, is excited to bring you a Parade Home like no other in 2016. We are always thinking of ways to motivate & inspire people, and our partnership with multiple central Ohio designers should do just that!
We are excited to profile local designer, Shay Northup, from West Elm. We asked Shay a few questions so that you can get to know her design style & know what to look for in the Parade of Homes this year!

How long have you been in the field of design?
I have been in the field of design for 10 years.

What was your very first project?
My very first project was an office space in the downtown Columbus area.

What inspires you?
People inspire me the most with what I do every day. I love to learn how people live so that our design inspiration can encompass their every day lifestyle.

What do you believe is good design?
I feel good design is a clean representation of one’s lifestyle that carries throughout every space.

Where is your favorite place to shop or get ideas?
West Elm, of course!

Why did you decide to participate in the 2016 Parade of Homes?
I have had the privilege of working with Compass Homes & Pam Cinelli for the past 4 years. It is one of our highlights every year to be able to collaborate on a project, like this year’s BIA home.

What are you most looking forward to designing for this year’s Parade of Homes?
Every year Pam & I begin our search for style & design as the plans are set. My favorite part is to put the finishing touches & styling throughout the spaces.

Any other information you want to share with us?
I have the privilege of working every day with an amazing team of stylists based out of our store in Easton and together we come up with our plans, but their individual creativity is what makes this project complete & a success for this year’s BIA home!

Stay tuned to Compass Homes, your new home builders Powell, to read about more of our amazing 2016 Parade Home designers as we continue to profile them on our blog and Facebook page
