- Studios on High – Studios on High Gallery is the oldest artist-owned & operated gallery in Columbus, Ohio. Based in the Short-North, the gallery features 20 exceptional, local Ohio artists that offer a unique blend of fine art and crafts, in a variety of different mediums.
- Roy G Biv – Founded in 1989, Roy G Biv is a Franklinton-based non-profit art gallery for emerging artists. The studio serves up unique pieces, curated by artists who are early in their careers and still developing their artistic “voice.”
- Short North Gallery Hop – Short North Gallery Hop is a great opportunity to check out a variety of galleries and street artists all at once. On the first Saturday of each month, galleries and non-traditional art venues across the Short North will spotlight the best of established and emerging Ohio-based artists, as well as nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.

- Columbus Arts Festival – The Columbus Arts Festival is back in 2024, and it’s the perfect event to find art for your space – at all price points. The event – which is free to the public – features hundreds of nationally-acclaimed artists who travel in from all over the country for the event to sell their art. This year, the festival will be held from June 7-9th at the Downtown Riverfront of the Scioto Mile.
- Franklinton Fridays – Franklinton Fridays is a monthly east Franklinton community event that features 13 local art galleries, studios, and businesses. This is a great monthly opportunity to view all sorts of art – and try out some delicious food and locally-crafted cocktails in the process!
When you can’t decide, rent
Alternatively, if you’re someone who struggles with committing to a piece, you might want to consider renting your art. Many libraries around the Columbus area, like the Bexley Public Library, allow members to rent artwork just like you would a book. However, it’s important to keep in mind that fines for damaged or lost artwork come at a much steeper price than a copy of Wuthering Heights.
