Wow – what a year it’s been for Compass Homes!
It feels like just yesterday we were planning for 2024. Now, as we wrap up the year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some of the highlights and look ahead to what’s next. From inspiring home design and decor trends, to breathtaking custom builds, it’s been a year to remember!
This Year’s Milestones
It was hard to pick our top moments from this year, but here are a few standouts:
1. A Featured Affiliate of Real Producers
One of the biggest honors this year was being a featured affiliate Real Producers Columbus. It’s a testament to our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and fostering strong relationships with our clients and community.
2. The Keeney House Update – One Year Later
While we love each of the unique homes we build, the Keeney family custom home stands out as a favorite. From working closely with the family to integrating bold wallpaper and playful lighting fixtures, it’s a home that reflects creativity and collaboration at its finest. Pamela notes, “I absolutely love the wallpaper additions to that home—whimsical light fixtures and wallpaper just add so much personality!”
3. A New Chapter on Lane Avenue
In 2024, we purchased a building on Lane Avenue, which will soon house our new design studio and corporate offices. While Pamela jokes that it’s “the worst-kept secret in Arlington,” this move marks a significant step in Compass Homes’ journey. Stay tuned for more updates as we bring this vision to life in 2025!
2025 Design Trends
This year, we saw homeowners embrace bold, beautiful trends, and the same will continue into 2025. Here’s what you might notice in the new year (and what we’ll be embracing at Compass Homes!)
- Color Saturation: From chocolate brown to forest green, color drenching—a technique where walls, ceilings, and trim are bathed in rich, earthy hues—was a showstopper.
- Pattern Play: Wallpaper made its way to ceilings, and tiles were used to create striking patterns, like checkerboards or plaid designs.
- Seaside Inspiration: Coastal textures—think rattan, driftwood, and netting—offered a fresh twist on ocean-inspired design.
- Stained Wood Kitchens: While white kitchens remain timeless, stained wood cabinetry added warmth and depth to modern spaces.
- Mixing Metals: Brass faucets paired with silver cabinet knobs or other mixed-metal combinations made for elevated, layered designs.
Pamela shares, “Design-wise, I’m excited to see more warm woods in kitchens. Bright white kitchens will always be timeless, but stained finishes bring a deep richness that feels so fresh.”
Looking Ahead to 2025
The future is bright for Compass Homes! Here’s what we’re most excited about:
- Opening Our New Design Studio: Our Lane Avenue building will become a hub for inspiration and collaboration, setting the stage for an even more elevated client experience.
- Enhancing Spec Homes: We’ve invested significantly in refining finishes this year for our spec homes, and we’re looking forward to pushing the boundaries even further in 2025.
- Expanding Our Reach: We’re planning to grow in the areas we already serve, ensuring more families can experience the personalized, luxurious touch of a Compass Home.
- Compass Celebrates 25 Years: 2025 is the year that Compass celebrates a big milestone: 25 years of building one-of-a-kind custom homes! Our official anniversary date is October 12th, but we’ll be talking about this exciting accomplishment all year long.
